The Artisan route begins in Cojutepeque and ends at Suchitoto. There is a lot to see and an overnight stay in Suchitoto is recommended to get the most out of your visit.  You will be rewarded with beautiful scenery, great food, lovely hotels, entertainment, outdoor activities, ceramics, textiles, and colorful art.

Leaving San Salvador, head east on highway CA-1 towards Cojutepeque.  After Cojutepeque, continue on CA-1 past the town of San Rafael to San Sebastian. Double-back to San Rafeal and turn right heading north to reach Ilobasco.  From Ilobasco head west towards Cinquera and continue on to Suchitoto.

Banking- Cojutepeque and Ilobasco are the only two towns along the way that have a bank (Banco Cuscatlan), so bring cash or plan to stop at these two locations. Only a few stores and hotels accept credit cards.
