Las Olas Beach House is perched high on a cliff overlooking the beach of Sunzal, one of El Salvador's more popular surfing spots. Las Olas is another small but relaxing inn along this corridor referred to as La Libertad. It is known mainly as a surfing hotel, but can be enjoyed by anyone. The atmosphere is, "laid back," but the owners are extremely attentive and go out of their way to make you feel at home. There is a small fresh water pool just steps from the main deck with gorgeous views, but the prize feature is the salt water pool.
Reached by a narrow stairway meandering down the cliff, the fresh water pool is seperated from the ocean by a low wall. Enjoy the crashing waves and remain safe from any dangerous undertow. The restuarant offers a full service menu. At the time of my visit, the owner was out diving for dinner, so you know it's fresh! There is often live music on the weekends that draws quite a crowd.

If you are not planning on surfing and just want to take advantage of the beautiful setting, guest suites/double occupancy run $60 per night.
