Imposible tours, started in 2000, and is a family business that offers tours in the highest part of the mountains of El Imposible National Park. We are located in the department of Ahuachapan, in southwestern El Salvador, in the western extreme of the Apaneca-Ilamatepec mountains.
El Imposible National Park is part of one of the most threatened ecosystems in the world, el Bosque Tropical de Montaña of the Mesoamerican Pacific slope, and the last refuge of many endangered animal and plant species which are in danger of extinction in El Salvador. Established in March 1989, the Park of 3,800 hectares is recognized as a gem of biodiversity and culture.
The Tours-
Various locals from our village accompany us as guides and lead the groups on Imposible's trails. All of our guides know and appreciate the mountains like no-one else.... With Manolo González and his guides, discover these incredible trails:
La Catarata "El salto": 7 hour hike rewarded by a swim beneath a 50 m waterfall
Camino de "La Muerte": Discover uncharted trails through the bush, and see coffee plantations and forests of bamboo (6 hours)
Mountain Bike Tours: From 1700 m down to the ocean! The first day mountain-biking, overnight at the beach, and return by truck via the Route of the Flowers

El Puente del Imposible: A hike in the middle of the park, to a bridge with spectacular views (5 hours)
Hasta La luna: An unforgettable journey into the heart of Imposible, truly untouristed and off-the-beaten-track, and swim in a river and its many cascades (6 hours)
Tacuba - San Francisco Menendez: The oldest and most historical of the routes in Imposible, in the very center of the park. After the hike, sleep in a house at the edge of the sea, enjoy fresh fish barbecued in the bonfire, glass in hand, listening to the tunes of Manu Chao... (8 hour hike, 2 day adventure)
A San Miguelito: Visit the Ruta del Cerro Leon, the farm and museum of SALVANATURA of San Miguelito and the Anganches Rivers (6 hours)
Exploracion de cavernas: At the bottom of Imposible, into Hell! Can you believe that the devil lives here! (5 hours)...and many more tours, customized for you....
Accomodations-
Hostal de Mama y Papa
Manolo's family home! Breakfast and hearty meals prepared by his mother and served in a warm ambience. Before bed, relax in the hammocks and play guitar with his father.
There are 10 beds, with shared bathroom (hot water shower).
His mother prepares the meals. Delicious vegetarian cuisine can be prepared upon request. We have a bar now to relax after hiking !
Tacuba is situated 16 kilometers from Ahuachapan. Buses leave every 20 minutes for Tacuba. When you arrive in the town, ask for Manolo Gonzalez or the Hostal de Mama y Papa.
