City Tours-

Upon leaving the hotel we will go by the new upscale malls on our way to Residencial Santa Elena, where the American Embassy is located. Later we will be heading towards La Puerta del Diablo, an impressive rock structure with a breathtaking view. We will continue to Los Planes de Renderos where we will enjoy a spectacular view of the City of San Salvador; while we taste the delicious Pupusas, a local corn based Salvadoran dish from our pre Colombian ancestors.

Our next stop is at the El Zapote Military Headquarters where we will have the opportunity to study the national territory on the stucco relief map. Following, you will visit the Historic Center, and the Metropolitan Cathedral, where the remains of Monsignor Romero rest. Next stop is the Gerardo Barrios Plaza.

The visit would not be complete without a view of Las Américas Plaza where the Monument to the Savior of the World stands, ending the tour at the National Hand Crafts Market. Return to hotel. Time: 3-4 Hours.

Night City Tour-

Depart from Hotel. We invite you to learn about the origins of the capital City by touring the areas that come to life at night. The Zona Rosa is a tourist area that has traditionally sheltered the best restaurants, disco's, hotels and embassies. Later we will visit the school restaurant Mesón de Goya to enjoy local Salvadoran food, we highly recommend the PUPUSAS, the most representative Salvadoran dish.

At the next stop you will enjoy available recreational and cultural activities, including the theater, live music by the Symphonic Orchestra of El Salvador, or the Juvenile Symphonic Orchestra, housed at the President Theater, or enjoy popular music group concerts, or any other option.

If you are looking for fun, we have the best and most modern disco’s and bars at the Gran Vía, in a very exclusive and cozy environment. Back to hotel. Time: 3-4
Shopping Tour-

Depart from Hotel. We will head towards the Galerías Mall, located at Paseo General Escalón. This mall was built under, over and to the sides of a beautiful mansion of the 50's, that proudly stands in the middle. The largest department store, Almacenes Siman is found here, as well as Zara, and other exclusive stores, bank branches, food courts, art exhibitions, etc.

The next stop is at the modern Multiplaza Mall, the largest in Central America, inspired in the Malls of Miami, open 24 /7. Enjoy the gamut of gourmet restaurants and live music shows. Back to hotel. Time: 3-4 Hrs.
Mayan Archeological Tour-

Departure from Hotel. We will head to the archeological site "Joya de Cerén", the most important discovery of the last 50 years in Latin America. This site was preserved by nature, since it was buried under the ashes of a volcano that erupted. It is known as the Pompey of America. The UNESCO declared Joya de Cerén as a World Heritage.

Our next stop is at San Andrés, the pre-Colombian ceremonial site with Mayan partially undiscovered pyramids and several mounds, and a History Museum. The next archeological stop is at the Colonial City of Santa Ana to visit the historical part of downtown, where the majestic XIX century Cathedral and National Palace were erected. Today the Santa Ana City Hall fills the premises of the National Palace.

Lunch will be served at a pleasant restaurant in that same city, and later we will move to Chalchuapa, to visit the archeological sites of El Tazumal and Casa Blanca, at the time you are guided through the history of the place and its people, finishing with the tour through the Museums containing the historical remains found in these two sites. Casa Blanca also offers the opportunity to learn about the Indigo dyeing process; visitors are invited to dye some garments. Back to hotel. Time: 7-8 Hrs.
Coffee Growing And Processing Route-

Departure from Hotel. This tour takes you to the breathtaking and magic Apaneca high plateau located in the Department of Ahuachapán. You will walk through coffee forests and paths in an area of 230 acres and at altitudes ranging from 1,400 to 1700 above sea level.

You will enjoy and admire the most relevant aspects of the Café Gourmet production, a very well known coffee brand produced in this region.

Enjoy walking along coffee growing trails, observing the different cultivation stages and coffee plant varieties, at the time you listen to an explanation of the full process from the coffee seed to the delicious cup of revitalizing coffee.
The area also houses the archeological site where the Mayans adored their gods, and the three Mayan monoliths from 600 BC, called the GORDIFLONES (the three chubby guys). Back to Hotel. Time: 8 Hours.

Rio Paz Rafting-

Departure from hotel to the Paz River to practice water sports. The Paz River is located at the border between Guatemala and El Salvador and is famous for its ideal RAFTING waters throughout the year.

Time of departure from San Salvador at 06:30 am, arriving at 09:00 am. After a short 20 minute stroll to the river site, passengers are given a 20-30 minute briefing before starting the adventure (depends on the number of passengers), then the downstream rafting adventure begins.

The first stop is at "La Ceiba", to enjoy a Box Lunch and a short break. Passengers prepare to return between 14:30 and 15:00 hours to San Salvador. Arrival at San Salvador between 17:30 and 18:00 hours.

Class II: Ideal for the first time. Waves and rapids. More rapid currents, occasional maneuvers, moderate and irregular waves; suitable for the whole family (children over 10 years).

Class III: Intermediate. Stronger rapids, irregular waves, numerous obstructions and some scaled slopes. Suitable for adventurous families (children over 12 years)

Volcano Hiking-

Departure from the hotel. If you love adventure and challenges, this is the right tour for you. We get to the Cerro Verde Natural Reserve. The Cerro Verde is a dormant volcano located at an altitude of 2,035 meters above sea level and a longitude of 500 hectares, its temperature ranges between  12 and 18 degrees centigrade. At 11:00 a.m. we will begin our hike towards one of the active volcanoes to be climbed:

Volcano of Santa Ana or Lamatepec. After two hours, we reach this crater of great magnitude and indescribable beauty. We will be visiting the Coatepeque lake, the Izalco volcano, the Cerro Verde volcano and the Pacific Ocean; if the weather allows for it. This volcano had its last series of strong eruptions on October, 1st 2005, spreading ashes throughout kilometers of surrounding areas. It is currently under stable conditions.

Izalco Volcano. After two hours of walking and climbing, we will reach the crater of the Izalco volcano. This is one of the youngest volcanoes in the world. It is known as the “Lighthouse of the Pacific” by navigators of the Pacific Ocean. At the foot of the volcano we see the City of Izalco. After two hundred years of almost constant activity, the volcano threatened to destroy the City. Enjoy the impressive view of the Apaneca-Ilamatepec mountain range, the Pacific coastline, the City of Sonsonate, the Acajutla port, etc.

Fun continues while you go down a gigantic ash slide towards a dense rain forest. It will take you one hour to go up and only ten minutes to go down.

Level of difficulty presented by the paths:
• Izalco Volcano: Difficult / Very Difficult.
• Santa Ana volcano: Moderate/ Difficult

IMPORTANT: The level of difficulty requires hikers to be physically fit. Includes: Luxury transportation, bilingual tour guide, tickets, lunch, refreshments. Recommendations: Much water, light clothes, sneakers, sun block, mosquito repellent, comfortable shoes. Walking time: 7 hours
