San Salvador-

AVI-CI01. City Tour with options:

Leaving the hotel we will roam around the new and modern commercial centers: Multiplaza, Las Cascadas and La Gran Via, and Residential Santa Elena. On our course, we will enjoy a panoramic Vista of the City of San Salvador. Once at the military museum “El Zapote,” we will discover the territory of El Salvador through a High Relief Map which shows the geographic features of the country.

Continuing to the historical Center, we will stroll through the Metropolitan Cathedral; to the basement, where the rests of Monsignor Romero are buried. Leaving the Cathedral we visit the Gerardo Barrios Plaza; being a good place to appreciate the facade of the Cathedral and the National Palace.

Leaving the historical center, we will visit the Plaza of “Las Américas” where the Monument of “El Salvador del Mundo” (The Saviour of the World) stands, being the most representative monument of the country.

We will finish the route in the Art Gallery and Crafts Store of “El Arbol de Dios” (God's Tree), to see the work of the famous Salvadorean artist Fernando Llort.











AVI-CI02. Tour Devil'S Doorwar, Panchimalco and Pupusas:

We will visit the impressive rock formation in the outskirts of the city, the Devil’s door, where we climb to the top and admire the mountainous landscape, the coastal area and if we are lucky and have a clear day, we will apreciate some volcanoes in the horizon.
From here, we also descry the colonial town of Panchimalco; later we will visit this colourful town and the art gallery of the salvadorean artist Miguel Angel where we may greet the painter and even get some art work.

Finally, prepare yourself for delicious pupusas, considered the most representative typical plate of the country.

As an option we may visit the Cultural Museum in San Jacinto or the Museum of “the Word and the Image”, and even go to the commemorative route of Monsignor Oscar Arnulfo Romero, visiting his house-museum, his grave and the museum of the Catholic University.

AVI-CI03. City Tour and Beach:
Starting from the lodging place, we will go around the capital city. We will see the main avenues, monuments and buildings in the city.
The Map in High Relief, located in a military base, exhibits the territory of El Salvador, the geographic characteristics of the country.
We will go to the historical center, and we visit the metropolitan cathedral constructed in 1905, in the basement of the cathedral the remains of Monsignor Romero are buried. In front of the church, the Plaza Gerardo Barrios will be a good place to appreciate the facade of the cathedral and the national palace.

A visit at the Museum of the Word and the Image will provide something of the history of the recent civil war in our country, which finished in 1992 when the Peace Accords were signed. We will finish the route in the Gallery of Arts and store El Arbol de Dios (the Tree of God) to see the work of the Salvadoran artist Fernando Llort.

When we finish tour of the city, we travel to the Pacific Ocean, a short ride, we have lunch and we enjoy the lukewarm water of the sea. We return to San Salvador immediately after sun set.
