The Museum of Science is the only museum in Central America that focuces on the physical sciences. It was modeled after the well-known "Exploratorium" in San Francisco and is geared towards school children, elementary through college. The museum has an impressive 10 x 16 foot satellite map that shows crater lakes, volcanoes, humid and dry forests, coffee plantations, farms, roads, dams, town, and cities.
The map helps to create an awareness of the environmental challenges ahead to preserve and recover the precious natural ecosystem of El Salvador. There is also a photo gallery of El Salvador's rare species of animals and insects such as the blue Morpho butterfly and the Bridled Tern.
