Juayua is a bustling town centered around the park and church. Most buildings are in the Colonial style of architecture with red tile roofs and cobblestone streets. The park is always bustling with fountains and animal topiaries topping the trees. Souvenir and handicrafts stands surround the park. There are several cafes, bakeries, and restaurants to choose from. The ever present volcano is a backdrop to the town and there is often a swirl of mist that cascades down from the summit.

The Feria Gastronomica draws huge crowds every weekend beginning around 10:30am and stays open until everyone is done eating. This is a good opportunity to sample some of El Salvadors typical dishes such as pupusas and carne asada. The fair also provides live music.
