When not tending his busy restaurant, owner Oscar Isidro Miranda keeps a watchful eye on the surfers right in front of Roca Sunzal. The atmosphere is relaxed and there is live music on Saturday nights that always attracts a lively crowd. This is a popular hotel for doctors and dentists from the United States who volunteer their time to perform medical procedures free of charge.
The restaurant offers over 100 dishes with an emphasis on seafood. All of the rooms have terraces with tables, chairs, and hammocks. Included are: living room, full bath with hot water (some rooms have jacuzzis), air conditioning, and cable TV.
The beach of El Tunco next door hosts a cyber cafe, covenience store, and outdoor restaurant. Roca Sunzal is also a favorite with the surfing crowd and they have special surfing packages for any skill level.
